$5.2 million in funds for the construction of Alpharetta Labs and Student Learning Center at Perimeter College
The project proposes a two-level addition to existing building at the Alpharetta campus. The preliminary program consists of four science (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) teaching labs with supporting preparation rooms and faculty offices. It will also provide student study and collaborative space.
Secure $46.36 million for new Formula Funds among all USG institutions. The funding formula is critical to the University System in meeting student enrollment demand. They provide funds for credit-hour enrollment increases, operation and maintenance of new facilities, maintenance of existing infrastructure and increased fringe benefit costs for items such as health insurance premiums.
Secure $60 million in major repairs and renovations among all USG institutions. The Major Repairs and Renovations allocation program assists its campuses in funding deferred maintenance of their buildings.
Georgia State has about $100 million in deferred maintenance expense for its facilities.
